Section 3:1-17

King Solomon built God’s temple

3:1a Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD

Then Solomon began building Yahweh’s temple
-or-
After that King Solomon started to build the house of Yahweh.

3:1b in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah,

in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah.
-or-
⌊He built it⌋ on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem

3:1c where the LORD had appeared to his father David.

His father David had seen Yahweh at that place.
-or-
where Yahweh showed himself to his father King David.

3:1d This was the place that David had prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

David prepared a place for the temple where Ornan the Jebusite had threshed his grain.
-or-
That place had belonged to Ornan, a man from the Jebus people. It was the place where he threshed his grain. King David ⌊bought the land from him⌋ as the place to build the temple.
