25:27a From the time that Amaziah turned from following the LORD,

After Amaziah turned away from honoring Yahweh,
-or-
⌊In the end⌋ King Amaziah stopped worshiping Yahweh.

25:27b a conspiracy was formed against him in Jerusalem,

some ⌊of his enemies⌋ plotted against him in Jerusalem.
-or-
⌊Because of this⌋ some people in Jerusalem made a plan to kill him,

25:27c and he fled to Lachish.

So ⌊to save himself⌋ he escaped to the city of Lachish.
-or-
so he ran away to Lachish Town.

25:27d But men were sent after him to Lachish, and they killed him there.

But his enemies sent men who followed him to Lachish, where they killed him.

But some of them chased him to Lachish and killed him there.
