18:33a However, a certain man drew his bow without taking special aim

But, without any special aim, one of the Aram soldiers shot an arrow
-or-
But, without even aiming, one of the Aram soldiers shot an arrow.

18:33b and he struck the king of Israel between the joints of his armor.

and it hit the king of Israel between the breastplate and the other pieces of his armor.
-or-
It hit King Ahab in a gap beside the metal that covered his chest.

18:33c So the king said to his charioteer,

The king said to his driver,
-or-
King Ahab shouted to his chariot driver

18:33d “Turn around and take me out of the battle,

“Turn the chariot around and take me away from the battle.
-or-
to turn the chariot and take him out of the battlefield.

18:33e for I am badly wounded!”

I am badly wounded.”
-or-
The arrow had hurt him badly.
