18:31a When the chariot commanders saw Jehoshaphat,

So when the chariot commanders saw Jehoshaphat

When the Aram chariot officers saw Jehoshaphat ⌊in his royal robes⌋

18:31b they said, “This is the king of Israel!”

they said, “He must be the king of Israel.”

they thought he was Ahab, the king of Israel.

18:31c So they turned to fight against him,

So they turned and attacked him.

So they surrounded him and fought him.

18:31d but Jehoshaphat cried out,

But Jehoshaphat called out

18:31e and the LORD helped him.

and Yahweh helped him.

18:31f God drew them away from him.
