18:3a Ahab king of Israel asked Jehoshaphat king of Judah,
King Ahab of Israel asked Jehoshaphat king of Judah:

He said to him,
18:3b “Will you go with me against Ramoth-gilead?”
“Will you join me in attacking Ramoth-gilead?”
-or-
“I am going to attack the town of Ramoth-gilead. You should join me.”
18:3c And Jehoshaphat replied, “I am like you,
Jehoshaphat answered, “You and I are as one person
-or-
King Jehoshaphat replied, “What belongs to me belongs to you.
18:3d and my people are your people;
and my people are like your people.
-or-
My soldiers also belong to you.
18:3e we will join you in the war.
I will join you in the battle.”

So my soldiers and I will go with you to fight.”
