13:20a Jeroboam did not again recover his power during the days of Abijah,

Jeroboam did not become strong again during the time that Abijah was king of Judah.
-or-
While King Abijah ruled ⌊the kingdom of⌋ Judah, King Jeroboam had no power.

13:20b and the LORD struck him down and he died.

Yahweh punished him and he died.
-or-
Then Yahweh caused him to become sick and he died.
