13:18a Thus the Israelites were subdued at that time,

That day, the Israelites were defeated

The people of Israel lost at that time.

13:18b and the men of Judah prevailed

and the people of Judah beat them

The people of Judah won the fight

13:18c because they relied on the LORD, the God of their fathers.

because they trusted Yahweh, the God of their fathers.
