10:15a So the king did not listen to the people,

The king did not listen to the people of Israel

King Rehoboam did not pay attention to what the people of Israel ⌊asked him to do⌋.

10:15b and indeed this turn of events was from God,

because this is what God had decided.

God himself caused this to happen.

10:15c in order that the LORD might fulfill the word that He had spoken

Yahweh made his prophecy come true. This was the prophecy that he gave to Jeroboam, Nebat’s son,

Yahweh caused what he told Jeroboam the son of Nebat to happen.

10:15d through Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam son of Nebat.

through Ahijah of the town of Shiloh.

Yahweh had used ⌊his prophet⌋ Ahijah from Shiloh Town to tell him this.
