9:9a And others will answer, ‘Because they have forsaken the LORD their God

People will answer, ‘Because ⌊the people of Israel⌋ have left Yahweh their God,
-or-
People will reply that it was because ⌊the Israelites⌋ stopped following/serving Yahweh their God,
-or-
The answer will be/come: ‘⌊He has treated/punished them like this⌋ because they have turned away from him, ⌊although he is⌋ their God

9:9b who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt,

who brought their forefathers out of Egypt.
-or-
who long ago led their fathers/ancestors from Egypt.
-or-
and he freed their ancestors from Egypt.

9:9c and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving them—

They have followed other gods, worshiping and serving them,
-or-
Instead they began to worship and bow down before different gods.
-or-
They have turned to ⌊foreign/false⌋ gods and bowed down to them and served them ⌊instead of him⌋.

9:9d because of this, the LORD has brought all this disaster upon them.’”

and because of that, Yahweh caused this disaster/tragedy to happen to them.’ ”
-or-
That is the reason why Yahweh punished them so harshly/terribly.”
-or-
And so Yahweh has allowed them to suffer like this.’ ”
