8:6a Then the priests brought the ark of the covenant of the LORD

The priests carried the box that held/contained Yahweh’s covenant ⌊with Israel⌋

The priests carried the chest in which was Yahweh’s solemn agreement

8:6b to its place in the inner sanctuary of the temple, the Most Holy Place,

into the inner room of ⌊his/God’s⌋ house, the Very Holy Place.
-or-
into the inner room of the temple, the place that was most sacred to him.

8:6c beneath the wings of the cherubim.

There they placed it under the wings of ⌊heavenly beings called⌋ cherubim.

There they placed it under the wings of the cherubim ⌊statues/sculptures⌋.
