8:11a so that the priests could not stand there to minister because of the cloud;

The priests were unable to stand ⌊before God⌋ and serve ⌊him⌋ because of this cloud.

So the priests ⌊stayed outside⌋. The cloud prevented them from ⌊going back in⌋ to do their duties/work.

8:11b for the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD.

⌊They could not enter,⌋ for the glory of Yahweh filled his temple.

The glorious presence of Yahweh was everywhere inside the temple.
