7:14a He was the son of a widow from the tribe of Naphtali,
The mother of Huram was an ⌊Israelite⌋ woman from the tribe named Naphtali. She was ⌊now⌋ a widow.

Huram’s mother was from the Naphtali tribe, but his father had died.
7:14b and his father was a man of Tyre, a craftsman in bronze.
Bronze is a metal alloy (combination) of copper and about 12% tin.
The father of Huram was a man of/from Tyre. He had been an artisan/craftsman in bronze.

His father had lived in Tyre ⌊city⌋ and had worked with bronze/copper.
7:14c Huram had great skill,
Huram ⌊himself⌋ was very knowledgeable ⌊in bronze work⌋.

Huram was a very skilful workman/craftsman.
7:14d understanding, and knowledge for every kind of bronze work.
He had lots of experience ⌊in this craft/work⌋ and knew how to create any object of bronze.

He understood his craft well and was able to make many kinds of bronze/copper items.
7:14e So he came to King Solomon and carried out all his work.
He came/went to work for King Solomon, and did every task that Solomon gave him.

Huram traveled ⌊from Tyre to Jerusalem⌋ and did all of King Solomon’s ⌊bronze/copper⌋ work.
