5:7a When Hiram received Solomon’s message, he rejoiced greatly and said,

When Hiram heard these words from Solomon’s messengers, he was very pleased. He said,

5:7b “Blessed be the LORD this day!

“Let people bless/praise Yahweh this day,

5:7c He has given David a wise son over this great people!”

because he has given ⌊King⌋ David a wise son to be over this great people/nation.”

He gave David a wise son to be king over the great nation ⌊of Israel⌋.”
