22:30a And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat,

The king of Israel told Jehoshaphat,
-or-
Ahab said to Jehoshaphat,
-or-
The king of Israel told the king of Judah that

22:30b “I will disguise myself and go into battle, but you wear your royal robes.”

“I will disguise myself. Then I will go into battle. You can wear (sing) your own royal robes.”
-or-
“I will make myself look/appear like ⌊one of the men/soldiers⌋ and take part in the battle. You, though, put on your royal robes.”
-or-
he should put on his kingly clothes. But Ahab himself would dress like ⌊an ordinary soldier⌋ and join the fight.

22:30c So the king of Israel disguised himself and went into battle.

Then the king of Israel put on a disguise before he went into battle.
-or-
So the king of Israel went into the battle not looking/appearing to be himself.
-or-
So ⌊that is what happened.⌋ Ahab joined the battle and no one could see/know who he was.
