2:20a “I have just one small request of you,” she said. “Do not deny me.”
She said ⌊to Solomon⌋, “I want to ask you (sing) to do a small favor for me. Please do not say no.”
-or-
Then Bathsheba said, “Please do (sing) me a favor. It is only one small one.”
-or-
She told him that she had a simple request that she wanted him to fulfil/satisfy/honor.
2:20b “Make your request, my mother,” the king replied, “for I will not deny you.”
He responded, “Mother, you can ask me. I will not say no.”
-or-
The king said, “Tell me what it is, mother. I will not refuse to do what you want.”
-or-
The king told his mother to tell him what she wanted. He assured her that he would do it for her.
