2:14a Then he said, “I have something to tell you.”

Then he said to her: ‘‘I have a word/message for you.”

Then he asked, “May I tell/give you my message?”

He had something he wanted to ask her.

2:14b “Say it,” she answered.

Bathsheba answered him: “Speak.”

“Tell me what it is,” she answered.

Bathsheba told/invited him to tell her what it was.
