Section 18:1-15

Elijah sent Obadiah to announce his arrival to King Ahab

18:1a After a long time, in the third year of the drought, the word of the LORD came to Elijah:

Much later, in the third year ⌊without rain,⌋ Yahweh gave/sent this word/message to Elijah:
-or-
More than two years went by and it still ⌊did not rain⌋. Then Yahweh spoke to Elijah. He said,
-or-
A long time after that, during the third year ⌊of the drought⌋, Yahweh commanded Elijah,

18:1b “Go and present yourself to Ahab,

“Go (sing) and appear/stand (sing) before Ahab,
-or-
“Go (sing) to see/meet King Ahab.

18:1c and I will send rain upon the face of the earth.”

and ⌊then⌋ I will give rain to the earth/land.”
-or-
Then I will cause/make rain to fall on the ground ⌊again⌋.”
