15:8a And Abijam rested with his fathers and was buried in the City of David,

Abijah died and went to be with his ancestors. His body was buried in ⌊the part of Jerusalem called⌋ “City of David.”

Abijah died/passed. They/Men placed his body in a tomb ⌊in Jerusalem⌋, in the city that David ⌊had captured/conquered⌋.

15:8b and his son Asa reigned in his place.

His son Asa became the next king.

Abijah’s son Asa took his place as king ⌊of Judah⌋.
