SIL Translator’s Notes on 1 Kings 1:53

1:53a So King Solomon summoned Adonijah down from the altar,

So King Solomon sent his men to find Adonijah. They took/forced him away from the altar

Then he sent some of his people to get Adonijah away from the sacrifice platform/table

1:53b and he came and bowed down before King Solomon, who said to him,

and brought him to King Solomon. Adonijah bowed low before Solomon, and Solomon told him,

and to lead him into his presence. There Adonijah bowed down ⌊to show his submission/respect⌋. The king ordered him

1:53c “Go to your home.”

“Go (sing) back home ⌊and stay there⌋.”
-or-
to return to the place where he had been living.
