1:45a Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king at Gihon,

and at Gihon the priest Zadok and the prophet Nathan have anointed him ⌊with oil⌋ ⌊to make/declare him⌋ king.

Now Zadok and Nathan have ⌊gone with them⌋ to Gihon and there poured/dripped upon Solomon the sacred oil ⌊to show/signify that⌋ he is now king.

⌊They have all gone⌋ to Gihon, and there Zadok and Nathan have made him king.

1:45b and they have gone up from there with rejoicing that rings out in the city.

Now they have gone back ⌊to Jerusalem⌋ joyful/rejoicing. The city is in confusion,

Then they went back to the city with great joy. The city is in turmoil/uporoar!

They have gone back ⌊to Jerusalem⌋ celebrating and ⌊the people of⌋ the city are excited.

1:45c That is the noise you hear.

and that is the commotion you are hearing.
