1:41a Now Adonijah and all his guests were finishing their feast

Adonijah and all the people he had called/invited ⌊to his own celebration/feast⌋ had just finished eating.
-or-
Adonijah and all his guests were just ending/concluding their meal.

1:41b when they heard the sound of the ram’s horn.

They heard ⌊people/men⌋ blowing/sounding the ram’s horn,
-or-
They could hear the trumpet blast.

1:41c “Why is the city in such a loud uproar?” asked Joab.

and Joab asked, “Why is there such a noise/tumult in the city?”
-or-
So Joab started asking ⌊people⌋ what was happening to cause the commotion/uproar in Jerusalem.
