12:32a And Jeroboam ordained a feast on the fifteenth day of the eighth month,

He established/started a ⌊new⌋ festival/feast on the fifteenth day of the eighth month.⌊ ⌋

Jeroboam announced that ⌊the people of his kingdom⌋ were to celebrate a special holy day. It was to be ⌊in the fall/autumn,⌋ on the fifteenth day of the eighth month ⌊of each year⌋.

12:32b like the feast that was in Judah,

It was to be similar to the festival/feast celebrated in Judah.⌊ ⌋

He wanted it to be like the special/holy day that ⌊the people of⌋ Judah celebrated.

12:32c and he offered sacrifices on the altar;

He made sacrifices on the altar.

He also sacrificed ⌊animals⌋ on the place/table for sacrificing.

12:32d he made this offering in Bethel to sacrifice to the calves he had set up,

He did this in Bethel and offered sacrifices to the ⌊golden⌋ calves he had made.

In Bethel ⌊city⌋ Jeroboam offered ⌊the animals⌋ to the ⌊statue/image of⌋ the calf he had had made.

12:32e and he installed priests in Bethel for the high places he had set up.

He also appointed priests at the hilltop shrines he had made at Bethel.

In Bethel he also placed/stationed sacrificers at the worship/sacred places he had had built.
