11:36a I will give one tribe to his son,

I will give one tribe to Solomon’s son

⌊But⌋ I will allow Solomon’s son to rule over one tribe

yet one tribe I will leave to/for his grandson to rule.

11:36b so that My servant David will always have a lamp before Me in Jerusalem,

so that there will always be a lamp for my servant David in ⌊my presence⌋ in Jerusalem,
-or-
so that I will always have a descendant of my servant David ⌊ruling⌋ in Jerusalem ⌊like⌋ a shining light.
-or-
I will do this because I want David my servant to always have a king from his line/family ruling well/justly in my sight, in Jerusalem.

11:36c the city where I chose to put My Name.

the city that I have chosen for the place ⌊of worship⌋ for my name.
-or-
It is the city where I want ⌊people⌋ ⌊to worship⌋ me.
-or-
For Jerusalem is the city that I have chosen, the city where ⌊my people⌋ ⌊will worship⌋ me.
