8:12a The sons of Elpaal: Eber, Misham, Shemed

Elpaal’s sons were Eber, Misham, Shemed, ⌊Beriah, and Shema⌋ .

Elpaal was the father of Eber and Misham. ⌊He was also the father of⌋ Shemed

8:12b (who built Ono and Lod with its villages),

⌊Elpaal’s son Shemed⌋ rebuilt ⌊the towns of⌋ Ono and Lod and the villages around them.

who established Ono ⌊town⌋ and Lod ⌊town⌋ and the nearby villages.
