6:49a But Aaron and his sons did all the work of the Most Holy Place.

Aaron and his clan did all the duties of the holy place ⌊in the house of Yahweh⌋ .

But the task of presenting offerings belonged only to Aaron and his descendants. They did all the necessary work associated with the Holiest Room ⌊in the house of Yahweh⌋ .

However, only Aaron and his family line ⌊were allowed to serve as priests for Yahweh.⌋ They ⌊alone⌋ did all the work for the room where God was present.

6:49b They presented the offerings on the altar of burnt offering and on the altar of incense

These priests brought the sacrifices to the table of offerings and ⌊they burned the incense⌋ on the table of incense.

They prepared ⌊
some⌋ offerings/gifts on the platform of completely burnt sacrifices. ⌊They prepared other offerings/gifts⌋ on the platform for burning sweet smelling oils.

They were the ones who brought sacrifices and offerings to the ⌊two⌋ gift tables ⌊of Yahweh⌋ . ⌊They prepared and presented the drink/wine, grain, and⌋ animal sacrifices and the incense/oils ⌊that made a pleasing smell/fragrance to/for Yahweh⌋ .

6:49c to make atonement for Israel,

in order to make peace between Yahweh and ⌊the people of⌋ Israel

⌊They gave the sacrifices⌋ to Yahweh so that he would not be angry about the wrong/bad/evil things ⌊the people of⌋ Israel had done.
-or-

⌊They did this so that the⌋ Israelites would be pure and without guilt before Yahweh.

6:49d according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

in the way Yahweh’s servant Moses had commanded them.

They followed the rules for this work that Moses, God’s special man/servant, had written.
-or-
Moses, who had served Yahweh faithfully/well, commanded them to do this work in a certain way and they obeyed.

6:48–49 (reordered)

⌊Thus the musicians served Yahweh in front of the sacred tent of Yahweh’s presence. The first high priest,⌋ Aaron, and his descendants prepared the offerings and sacrifices. ⌊They put them⌋ on the altar/platform in the Very Sacred/Special Place ⌊inside the sacred tent⌋ . ⌊They did all the work⌋ to remove the sins/guilt of the people of Israel. ⌊They worked⌋ according to the instructions Yahweh had told them through his servant/prophet Moses. The remaining Levites did all the other duties required for the sacred tent.
