29:8a Whoever had precious stones gave them to the treasury of the house of the LORD,

Whoever owned valuable stones gave them to the treasury of the temple of Yahweh.

People who had costly stones/gems donated them to the storerooms of the house of Yahweh for use.

29:8b under the care of Jehiel the Gershonite.

Jehiel, a descendant of Gershon, looked after them.

They were guarded by Jehiel who was from the clan of Levi’s son Gershon.
