29:28a He died at a ripe old age,

King David died when he was old.

29:28b full of years, riches, and honor,

He had a long life, riches, and respect ⌊from the people of Israel⌋ .

He lived a long time, gaining much wealth and honor.

29:28c and his son Solomon reigned in his place.

David’s son Solomon was the king after him.
