17:1a After David had settled into his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet,

Now David ⌊moved and⌋ settled into his palace. After that he told Nathan the prophet,

⌊King⌋ David moved into the big house of the king and started to live there. ⌊Then⌋ he spoke to Nathan, the prophet ⌊of God⌋ .

17:1b “Here I am, living in a house of cedar,

“Behold, I am living in a ⌊big⌋ house of cedar.

⌊He told Nathan⌋ to notice that he/David was staying in a ⌊large beautiful⌋ house. ⌊That house was built with durable wood called⌋ cedar.

17:1c while the ark of the covenant of the LORD is under a tent.”

But the ark of the agreement of Yahweh is in a tent.”
