15:22a Chenaniah the head Levite was the director of the music

Chenaniah, the head ⌊of the singers of⌋ the descendants of Levi, directed the singing.
-or-
Chenaniah, the leader ⌊of the singers from⌋ the tribe of Levi, ⌊was chosen⌋ to supervise the singing.

15:22b because he was highly skilled.

That was his responsibility for he had the skill ⌊to do⌋ that ⌊very well⌋ .
-or-
He was skillful at ⌊singing.⌋ Therefore ⌊they gave⌋ him this responsibility.
