11:20a Now Abishai, the brother of Joab, was chief of the Three,

(New Living Translation (2004)🙂 Abishai, the brother of Joab, was the leader of the Thirty.

Abishai was the Joab’s brother, and Abishai was the leader of the thirty ⌊warriors⌋ .
-or-
Joab’s younger brother Abishai was the leader of the thirty most mighty warriors. (Translation for Translators)

11:20b and he lifted his spear against three hundred men, killed them,

One time, he used his spear to fight 300 men and he killed them all. (EEB)
-or-
Once he killed 300 enemies ⌊all by himself⌋ with his spear.

11:20c and won a name along with the Three.

Because of that people honored him in the same way as ⌊they honored⌋ the three ⌊heroes⌋ .

So he became as famous as the ‘Three Brave Soldiers.’ (EEB)
