Section 2:1–9

Yahweh promised his new temple would be beautiful

2:1a On the twenty-first day of the seventh month,

⌊In the second year,⌋ on the twenty-first day of the seventh month,

On the twenty-first day of the next month,

2:1b the word of the LORD came through Haggai the prophet, saying,

Yahweh revealed/spoke His word to the prophet Haggai. He said,

Haggai, the one who spoke for God, received/heard a message from Yahweh who told Haggai:
