1:13a He sent fire from on high,

⌊It was as though⌋ he/Yahweh sent a fire from heaven

It was like fire from above

1:13b and it overpowered my bones.

that burned in our bones ⌊like a hot fever⌋ .

that ⌊Yahweh⌋ sent to burn the bones of the people of Jerusalem.

1:13c He spread a net for my feet and turned me back.

It is as if he/Yahweh had set a trap for our feet which stopped us from walking forward.

He wanted us to turn towards him again, so he caused things to be very difficult for us.

1:13d He made me desolate, faint all the day long.

Then he abandoned us and left us in constant pain.

He made us empty. We feel sick all the time.
