8:36a They also delivered the king’s edicts to the royal satraps and governors of the region west of the Euphrates,

Then some of the Jewish leaders who returned gave the letter/document ⌊that the king had given to Ezra⌋ to the chiefs/leaders of provinces and other high officials of Beyond the River Euphrates ⌊Province⌋.

And finally the instructions of the king were delivered to the highest officials of Western ⌊Province⌋.

8:36b who proceeded to assist the people and the house of God.

So these leaders and officials supported the people ⌊of Israel⌋ and the temple of God.

They ⌊responded to the instructions of the king⌋ by helping the Jewish people and the worship at the house of God ⌊in Jerusalem⌋.
