7:6a And the number of those who lapped the water with their hands to their mouths was three hundred men;

There were three hundred men who took water in their hands ⌊and put it to their mouths⌋ and lapped it up like a dog.

There were three hundred (300) soldiers who took water in their hands to drink it with their tongues like dogs.

7:6b all the others knelt to drink.

All the others knelt down to drink.
