6:35a Calling them to arms,

Gideon called them to join him

6:35b Gideon sent messengers throughout Manasseh,

and sent messengers throughout the territory of Manasseh.

He sent messengers through the land where the Manasseh people lived.

6:35c as well as Asher, Zebulun, and Naphtali,

He also sent messengers to the clans of Asher, Zebulun and Naphtali,

He sent messengers also to the land where the Asher, Zebulun, and Naphtali people lived,

6:35d so that they came up to meet him.

and their men came to join him.

and their soldiers came to join the others.
