22:11a When the king heard the words of the Book of the Law,

When the king heard the things/words ⌊written⌋ in the Book of the Law,

-or-

The king listened as ⌊Shaphan read⌋ the Book of the Laws ⌊of God⌋ .

22:11b he tore his clothes

he tore his ⌊royal/kingly⌋ clothes ⌊in sorrow/dismay⌋ .

-or-

Then he tore the clothes ⌊he was wearing⌋ ⌊to show his great sadness/dismay⌋ .
