Section 22:1-20

King Josiah received/welcomed the book of God’s law

22:1a Josiah was eight years old when he became king,

Josiah was eight years old at the time he became king.

-or-

Josiah became the king ⌊of Judah⌋ at the age of eight.

22:1b and he reigned in Jerusalem thirty-one years.

He ruled from ⌊the city of⌋ Jerusalem for 31 years.

He was king for thirty-one (31) years in Jerusalem ⌊city⌋ .

22:1c His mother’s name was Jedidah daughter of Adaiah;

The name of his mother was Jedidah. She/Jedidah was the daughter of Adaiah.

-or-

Josiah’s mother was called Jedidah and her/Jedidah’s father was Adaiah.

22:1d she was from Bozkath.

She/Jedidah was from ⌊the town of⌋ Bozkath.

-or-

Her hometown was called Bozkath.
