SIL Translator’s Notes on 2 Kings 18:28

18:28a Then the Rabshakeh stood and called out loudly in Hebrew:

Then the Rabshakeh stepped/came forward and shouted in Hebrew,

-or-

But the Assyrian official stood ⌊in front⌋ and called out with a loud voice in the Hebrew language. He said,

18:28b “Hear the word of the great king, the king of Assyria!

“Hear (plur.) this word/message from the Great King, the king who rules Assyria!

-or-

“Listen to what the all-powerful emperor of Assyria says!
