14:6a Yet he did not put the sons of the murderers to death,

However, he did not kill the sons of the men ⌊who had assassinated his father⌋ .

But he did not have ⌊any of⌋ their descendants executed.

14:6b but acted according to what is written in the Book of the Law of Moses,

He obeyed the law written in the Torah/law scroll/book of Moses.

He followed the commands/words in the book of the Law that Moses ⌊gave the people⌋ .

14:6c where the LORD commanded:

In this book Yahweh commanded,

14:6d “Fathers must not be put to death for their children,

“Fathers must/may not be executed because of ⌊the sins of⌋ their sons.

they must not execute parents/people ⌊to punish them⌋ for ⌊crimes that⌋ their children/offspring ⌊did/committed⌋ .

14:6e and children must not be put to death for their fathers;

Their sons must/may not be executed because of ⌊the sins of⌋ their fathers.

⌊In the same way,⌋ ⌊the people of Israel⌋ must not kill/execute people ⌊to punish them⌋ for ⌊crimes that⌋ their parents did/committed.

14:6f each is to die for his own sin.”

No one may be put to death unless they/he themselves/himself have/has sinned.”
