9:16a Then Jehu got into his chariot and went to Jezreel,

Then Jehu got into his chariot and started off for Jezreel,

⌊When Jehu had said this,⌋ he ⌊himself⌋ began to drive his war cart toward Jezreel.

9:16b because Joram was laid up there

because Joram was lying there ⌊in bed⌋ .

-or-

⌊He knew that⌋ Joram was there, still recovering ⌊from his wounds⌋ .

9:16c and Ahaziah king of Judah had gone down to see him.

King Ahaziah of Judah had also gone there to see Joram.

Ahaziah king of Judah was there too, visiting Joram.
