6:18a As the Arameans came down against him,
The Aramean army started to come down ⌊the hillside⌋ toward Elisha.

Then the Aramean soldiers began to advance toward Elisha.
-or-
The Aramean/Syrian soldiers moved forward ⌊to capture/arrest⌋ Elisha.
6:18b Elisha prayed to the LORD, “Please strike these people with blindness.”
Elisha prayed to Yahweh, “Please make this army blind.”
-or-
Elisha said to Yahweh, “Yahweh, please cause these soldiers to become blind right now!”
-or-
The prophet prayed again to Yahweh. He asked him to make all those soldiers blind.
6:18c So He struck them with blindness, according to the word of Elisha.
So Yahweh made the army blind, just as Elisha had prayed.
-or-
Yahweh answered Elisha’s prayer/request and caused the men to become blind.
-or-
Yahweh answered the prayer of Elisha. Suddenly ⌊none of⌋ the ⌊enemy⌋ soldiers could see anything.
