Section 22:1-9

King Ahaziah was king of Judah

22:1a Then the people of Jerusalem made Ahaziah, the youngest son of Jehoram, king in his place,

The people of Jerusalem made Ahaziah, the youngest son of Jehoram, to be the next king.
-or-
The inhabitants of Jerusalem chose King Jehoram’s youngest son, Ahaziah to be the king of Judah after him.

22:1b since the raiders who had come into the camp with the Arabs

They chose him because the raiders who came with the Arabs into the camp
-or-
A band of men who came with the Arabs into the ⌊Judean military⌋ camp

22:1c had killed all the older sons.

had killed all the older sons of Jehoram.
-or-
had killed all his older brothers.

22:1d So Ahaziah son of Jehoram became king of Judah.

So Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah began to rule.

That is how Jehoram’s son Ahaziah became king.
