15:17a The high places were not removed from Israel,

He did not remove the sacred places on the hills of Israel.
-or-
King Asa did not remove the shrines on the hilltops of Israel.

15:17b but Asa’s heart was fully devoted all his days.

But even so, he served Yahweh from the heart all his life.

But he was determined to do what pleased Yahweh all the years that he was alive.
