1:11a God said to Solomon,

1:11b “Since this was in your heart

“This desire is in your heart

1:11c instead of requesting riches or wealth or glory for yourself

and you did not ask for wealth, riches, or honor,

You have not asked to be wealthy, or to own many things, or to be famous.

1:11d or death for your enemies—

or that your enemies would die,
-or-
You have not asked me to kill your enemies.

1:11e and since you have not even requested long life

or to live a long life.
-or-
You have not asked me to make you live many years.

1:11f but have asked for wisdom and knowledge to govern My people

But you have asked me to give you wisdom and knowledge to rule my people,
-or-
Instead, you asked me for wisdom and knowledge to rule these people who belong to me.

1:11g over whom I have made you king—

over whom I made you king.

I made you be the king to rule over them.
