Section 1:1-13

King Solomon asked God for wisdom and God gave it to him

1:1a Now Solomon son of David established himself securely over his kingdom,

David’s son, King Solomon, took complete control over his kingdom,
-or-
King Solomon, the son of King David, became a powerful king over the kingdom ⌊of Israel that he was ruling⌋.

1:1b and the LORD his God was with him

for Yahweh his God was with him
-or-
His God Yahweh was with him

1:1c and highly exalted him.

and helped him to become a great ⌊king⌋.
-or-
and made him be a powerful ⌊king⌋.
