9:13a and 1,760 of their relatives, the heads of their families,

The total number of priests ⌊from the tribe/clan of Levi who lived in Jerusalem city after their captivity⌋ was one thousand seven hundred and sixty ⌊people⌋ . All these priests were leaders in their clans.

There were one thousand seven hundred and sixty (1,760) priests ⌊who returned to Jerusalem city⌋ . They were all leaders/chiefs of their families.

9:13b able men for the work of the service of the house of God.

They were capable men who served God in the temple.

They were experts/skilled in the priestly work in the house of God.

They skillfully organised the temple work.

9:10–13 (reordered):

Jedaiah, Jehoiarib, Jachin, Azariah, Adaiah, and Maasai were priests. ⌊They returned and lived in Jerusalem in Judah⌋ . They were leaders of their clans. They were very skilled in the work of ministering in the house of God. Azariah son of Hilkiah was the chief/main/superior official in the house of God. His ancestors included Meshullam, Zadok, Meraioth, and Ahitub. Adaiah was the son of Jeroham. His ancestors included Pashhur and Malchijah. Maasai was the son of Adiel. His ancestors included Jahzerah, Meshullam, Meshillemith, and Immer. These leading priests and their relatives numbered 1,760 people ⌊altogether⌋ .
