a lion, mighty among beasts: In Hebrew, the word mighty normally refers to a hero or brave warrior. In this context it describes a lion’s strength and bravery compared to other animals. Some other ways to translate this phrase are:
the lion, bravest of beasts (New Jerusalem Bible)

the lion, which is mightiest among wild animals (New Revised Standard Version)

refusing to retreat before anything: This phrase means that a lion is not afraid of anything and will not run away from anything. Some other ways to translate this phrase are:
