For to know thee is complete righteousness: Again the connector For may be omitted. New Jerusalem Bible translates this line as follows: “To know you is indeed the perfect virtue.” Traduction œcuménique de la Bible offers “Knowing who you are leads to perfect righteousness.” Other possibilities are “Knowing you is the most perfect of all virtues,” “There is no greater good than knowing you,” “Nothing is better for us than knowing you,” and “Knowing that you are our God is the greatest of all possible virtues.” Compare Jer 9.24.

And to know thy power is the root of immortality: The image of the root was used in 3.15. Good News Translation expresses this line well: “Recognizing your power is where immortality begins.” Other approaches are “Knowing your power is what makes immortality possible” and “Knowing [or, Recognizing] your power leads us on the path to endless life.”
