The two parallel clauses in this verse are very similar in meaning. Translators should try to keep the parallel structure as Contemporary English Version does with “Show respect for the wise and never reject good advice” (similarly Good News Translation). Another possible model is:
• When sensible [or, wise] people give you advice, you should follow it. Don’t ever reject such advice.
