Translation commentary on 2 Chronicles 29:35

Besides the great number of burnt offerings there was the fat of the peace offerings, and there were the libations for the burnt offerings: Besides is literally “And also.” The priests had additional work responsibilities besides sacrificing the many burnt offerings already mentioned. For this reason Good News Translation and New Jerusalem Bible begins this verse with “In addition….” One of their additional duties was offering the fat of the peace offerings. For peace offerings, which are also called “fellowship offerings” (New International Version), see the comments on 1 Chr 16.1. The fat of the peace offerings refers to the fatty animal parts of these fellowship offerings (see the comments on 2 Chr 7.7). The priests burned these parts, but the people ate the other animal parts of these offerings. The other additional duty of the priests was to offer the libations that accompanied the burnt offerings. For libations see the comments on “drink offerings” at 1 Chr 29.21.

Thus the service of the house of the LORD was restored means the people started using the Temple again for worshiping the LORD. The passive verb was restored will have to be made active in some languages. New Century Version does it by rendering this clause as “So the service in the Temple of the LORD began again.” Another possible model is “So the people began to worship the LORD again in the Temple.”
